So, is Mexico part of North America? Yes. Mexico is part of North America. It joins the USA and Canada as one of the three countries that make up the continent of North America.

Mexico is often confused as being either South or Central America due to it being a Latin American country. However, although Mexico may have many cultural Latin American traditions and be considered a Latin American country, geographically, it is part of North America.

Therefore, Mexico is not in Central America, nor is it in South America.

How to get to Mexico from the UK

There are a few options when it comes to visiting Mexico from the UK. These are two of the most common options when travelling from the UK to Mexico (although there are plenty of others).

✈️ OPTION 1Fly to Cancun and start in the Yucutan/Quintana Roo area, which is most popular with tourists. This area includes well-known areas such as Cancun, Tulum, Playa Del Carmen, Cozumel and Isla Holbox. Flights take around 10 hours from London to Cancun and cost different prices depending on the time of year.

✈️ OPTION 2Fly to Mexico City and explore the capital, as well as areas like Puerto Escondido and Oaxaca City. Flights take around 14 hours from London to Mexico City, and cost different prices depending on the time of year.
